Independence Day was celebrated by students at the school. A cultural programme was presented on the occasion. Students paid tributes to the freedom fighters and celebrated 75 years of Independence by singing and dancing on 75 patriotic songs composed before and after Independence. The national flag was hoisted by Principal Amita Dhaka. The Principal threw light on the importance of the day. The celebrations concluded with the singing of the national anthem.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
