Earth Day celebrated at Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36-D, Chandigarh

Earth Day was celebrated at the school. A range of events was organised to sensitise the children to the importance of conserving natural resources and inspire them to contribute towards protecting their environment. The day commenced with an innovative project where students installed QR codes on the tress on school campus which provided information about their scientific names and their benefits. Students participated in Earth-centric yoga poses, paper crown making, hand impression crafts, vibrant photo booth, stone painting on theme of ‘Save Marine Life’, quiz and debate, mesmerising miniature garden and scintillating dance performance on save the earth. Student members of the the Eco Club of GNPS ‘Green Goblins’ along with Eco Club in-charge Sarina and representatives from the Union Ministry of Ayush planted 200 saplings of ashwagandha in Herbal Garden of the school. Principal Gurnam Kaur Grewal lauded the efforts of the students and reiterated the need to connect with nature and take onus for its safeguarding and sustainable preservation.
