Edu Dept amplifies efforts ahead of NAS

Modern teaching equipment, including computers and projectors, have been provided to government schools to make learning process simple and ensure preparation for the National Achievement Survey (NAS).

Satinder Bir Singh, District Education Officer, said, “With availability of projectors and other gadgets, government schools have been able to provide education on the lines of private schools.”

He said, “It’s observed that with the help of projectors, teachers are conducting the National Achievement Survey for students as well as practice tests. Detailed information on each subject is being provided effortlessly.”

He said the availability of modern teaching aids would have an impact on annual and the NAS of students.

So far, the department has distributed computers and projectors, to most of the elementary and secondary schools in the district. Learning kits, including mock papers, were being prepared by teachers to train students.

In order to have detailed assessment, schools would also conduct two-day parent-teacher meet on September 29 and 30, where parents of middle, high and senior secondary students would be informed about performance of students in exams and preparation of the NAS.
