Essay Writing Competition on UN Sustainable Development Goals

Korean Culture Center India, Press Club of India and Leaders For Tomorrow Foundation have organised Essay Writing competition for high school students on the theme of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The primary aim of this competition is to inculcate the habit of reading and writing among school children and youth and to give high school students (from classes VIII to XII) an opportunity to voice their ideas and to help work on the social issues that they come across in their day-to-day lives. The winners will be selected on the basis of the understanding of the problem, selection of topic, feasibility of the idea suggested and writing skills.

The entries and on and students from pan India can submit their entries online till March 15, 2021. The jury for the competition comprises senior journalists from the Press Club of India. The results will be announced on May 15, 2021.

Winners will be selected at the National, State and school levels, and there will be a special competition for national level selected students. Top 100 contestants will then again compete on Korean related topics, two winners of this special competition will get a fully sponsored week-long victory trip to South Korea.

Hwang Il-yong, the director of Korean Cultural Centre India says “Children and youth`s education deficiency among pandemic situation has been issue in society. I am happy to contribute this meaningful event as our practical small step for resolving the issue along with prestigious Press Club of India which has long history. We, Korean Cultural Centre India has focused on children and youth programs from its beginning understanding children and youth are our future even in cultural diplomacy. I hope to reach out to more Indian youth and students for providing them equal chance in terms of education and culture appreciation, Korean culture and Korean language.
