Workshop organised by Rotary Club

In Sri Guru Gobind Singh Public School, Chandigarh, a workshop was organised by the Rotary Club in collaboration with WELM Foundation, which is committed to inculcate the habit of conserving clean water. WELM Foundation aims to provide a solution to challenges that occur due to lack of information related to water conservation. The foundation takes initiative to spread awareness about dehydration among students also. Pritinder Kaur, the Principal of the school expressed her gratitude towards BP Singh for sharing valuable information and urged the students to drink plenty of water for proper body functions and keeping the diseases at bay.

Maths day contests

The Maths faculty of Sharda Sarvhitkari Model Sr Sec School, 40 D, Chandigarh, organised a variety of events such as poetry recitation on shapes, activity on Even and Odd numbers, clock making, word puzzle on ‘build your maths vocabulary’, skit on BODMAS and art integration activity. A video, showcasing various angles, was beautifully depicted in the form of a dance. Innovative posters and files were made on this subject. A paper-reading contest was also organised on December 22 — the birthday of maths genius Ramanujan. Prizes were distributed to the winners later. The Principal of the school Archna Nagrath exhorted the students to work hard in all subjects, while praising the budding mathematicians.


Declamation contest

To harness the potential of public speaking in students, an inter section declamation contest was arranged at DC Model Sr. Sec. School, Panchkula. Six students were shortlisted in the preliminary round who gave an edge to one another in the final round of the competition. Each contestant was given 3 to 5 minutes to display their eloquence skill. Importance of teachers in our life, Role of values in modern life, Prevention is better than cure and Rise of technology were the few topics for the contest. All participants displayed command over delivery and literary diction. The confidence level of the each speaker was remarkable. The Vice- Principal, Deepika Bhardwaj gave away the prizes to the position holders and encouraged all participants to take part in such events. Pratham Mahajan won first position whereas, Manvik and Kritika shared second position and, Ambiekaa bagged the third position. Aksh Goel got consolation.


St Thomus Convent School, Kurukshetra

It’s really a matter of pride for the school as two of its students brought laurels in sports. Aarush Aggarwal, a student of Class III created history and got ‘Group Championship’ in the 14th state-level UCMAS competition. In another event of Chess, Shivank Bhardwaj, a student of Class I participated in the 7th district chess championship, organided by District Chess Association of Kurukshetra in Ismailabad and won the second prize in Under-9 category. The school’s MD Anjalee Marwah, Principal and staff extended their wishes to both the students.
