In these grim times, there is a lot going on in our minds about the new coronavirus which is unforgiving. We keep on scrolling the web for information on the situation to keep ourselves updated. But the information gained always proves stressful which creates tension and anxiety. To keep you all unflustered and as cool as a cucumber, I would like to introduce to you the concept of Mandala Art .
Manadalas, meaning “circles” in Sanskrit, are sacred symbols that are used for meditation, prayer, healing and art therapy for both adults and children. Mandalas have been shown in clinical studies to boost the immune system , reduce stress and pain , lower blood pressure , promote sleep and ease depression. Mandala art has also been known to improve concentration.
Though these look extremely complicated, Mandalas are very effortless to make. These look blissful once finished, and help keep your mind tranquil. All you need to make a mandala is a compass, a pencil, some sketch pens for filling colours and a black marker for the outlining.
The first step in mandala making is to draw multiple concentric circles of different radii with the help of a sketch pen and a compass. The length between two consecutive circles need not be the same. Now take a pencil and fill different designs in each layer. Then take the black sketch pen and outline the same. You can later on fill the colour according to your will!
Mandalas are really facile and pleasureable to make. I suggest you put on some music and get to it immediately! Once it’s ready, you’re all set for a new status update!!
HAPPY MANADALA MAKING!
