Gian Jyoti Global School, Phase 2, Mohali
In the freezing cold weather, the students and staff members of the school congregated to celebrate Lohri on its campus where a huge bonfire was lit. A colourful function was organised to celebrate Lohri. Chairman JS Bedi and Principal Director Ranjeet Bedi lighted the bonfire. Students and staff encircled the bonfire. Groundnuts and rewri were distributed to everyone present there. Students presented cultural items like folk and traditional dances. Apart from singing folk songs, students danced on the beats of ‘dhol’. Poems and songs were recited in praise of one of the hero of Punjab, “Dulha Bhatti”, who used to help the poor and fought for their rights. The staff and the students enjoyed basking in the sun and eating goodies.

in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is
run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any
bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and
partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense
of the term.
