A capacity building programme (in-house training) was held at the school on the theme of ‘Happy Classroom’. The event aimed at enhancing the teaching-learning experience by promoting a positive and joyful classroom environment. The programme began with a traditional lighting of the lamp by Principal Narayan Singh and everybody invoked the blessings of ‘Ma Saraswati’. Dr Santosh Devangan, Coordinator, introduced Principal Narayan Singh and the resource persons, Dr Neelu Dhall and Dr Surinder Kaur Saini, who led the sessions during the day. First session ‘Happy Teachers Create Happy Classroom’ emphasised the crucial role that happy and motivated teachers play in creating a positive and conducive environment for learning. In the second session, ‘Understanding Relationships and Decoding Behaviours’, the resource persons delved into the psychology of teacher-student relationships, discussing how understanding student behaviours and fostering positive relationships can contribute to a happier classroom atmosphere. In the third session, ‘Managing Behaviour and Relationship’, practical strategies were shared on how to create an inclusive, empathetic, and supportive classroom environment. The final session, ‘Strategies for Happiness to Create Happy Classrooms’ explored actionable strategies for maintaining a joyful classroom atmosphere. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Neha Sachdeva, Coordinator.
