Students of the government as well as private schools of Sahnewal village scored well in the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Class XII results announced yesterday.
Manwinder Singh, Principal, Shakti Public School, said students had performed well in the exam. Of the total 66 students who appeared in the exam, 51 passed with first division. Gursimran, Mankaranpreet Singh and Avdesh Kumar secured first, second and third positions, respectively, with 432, 398 and 397 marks out of 450 in the science stream.
Similarly, in the arts stream, Mansi Shori secured the first position in the school by getting 413 marks. Chandan Maggi and Ranveer Singh secured the second and third positions, respectively, with 398 and 391 marks.
In the commerce stream, Rohit Kumar stood first with 400 marks, while Sonamjeet Kaur and Sahil Gogna secured second and third positions, respectively, by securing 395 and 373 marks.
Similarly, Government Girls Senior Secondary School achieved 100 per cent result. Principal Shallu Chaney said all 25 students of the arts stream and 22 students of the vocational stream got passed. From the arts stream, Prabhdeep Kaur, stood first with 423 marks, Ramandeep Kaur came second with 414 and Manisha stood third with 412 marks. In the vocational stream, Hardeep Kaur, Gurpreet Kaur and Nisha obtained 364, 349 and 324 marks, respectively, to bag top the three positions. She credited staff members and students for the achievement.
Students of Government Senior Secondary School for (Boys) also got 100 per cent result in both arts and vocational streams. In the arts stream, Sukhchain Sharma secured 87.11 per cent and stood first in the school while Jagdeesh Singh and Karanpreet Singh secured 85.55 per cent and 81.33 per cent to bag second and third positions, respectively.
In the vocational stream, Sharanpreet Singh secured the first position with 86.89 per cent. Vishal Singh and Karanveer Singh secured 85.11 per cent each, while Aditya got 84.66 per cent.
Principal Mandeep Kaur congratulated the achievers for their success.
