Gurpurb was celebrated at St Joseph School, Manauli Surat. The entire school campus was beautifully decorated with flowers in remembrance of the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. The school organised ‘nagar kirtan’, ‘shabad’ and Gurbani recitations, and the reading of Japji Sahib, which filled the entire atmosphere with devotion and purity. Students were told about the life history of Guru Nanak Dev and were inspired to follow his noble ideals and teachings in their own lives. After the ‘kirtan’ and ‘paath’, ‘prashad’ and ‘langar’ were distributed among all teachers and students. The young children were taken to a Gurdwara, where they learned about the discipline, service, and true ideals of life taught in the Guru’s home.
