Gurpurb celebrations by school students

Amity International School, Mohali

The school took to the virtual platform to celebrate Gurpurb. The event commenced with a welcome note and significance of the occasion. The young Amitians enlightened everyone about Guru Nanak’s teachings. Students were shown a short story on one of his teachings ‘Haq Sach di Kamai’ followed by a virtual tour of ‘Shri Darbar Sahib’. The event ended with  ‘shabad kirtan’. Senior students used calligraphy to writethe Guru’s teachings. Principal Urvashi Kakkar appreciated the efforts put in by the children and the teachers and encouraged the students to follow Guru Nanak’s teachings. Meanwhile, the school also hosted an innovative virtual inter-school competition ‘E3- EXPLORE EXPRESS EVOLVE’. Through the initiative, the school gave an open platform to the students from various schools of the Tricity to explore their talent, express their abilities and evolve their personalities in multiple arenas. Numerous competitions were held for all age groups. Pupils also learnt the skills of entrepreneurship as they created some innovative products out of discarded material and advertised the same as marketable commodities. Experts from various fields graced the event as the judges. Principal Urvashi Kakkar applauded the participants for their performances.

Gurpurb was celebrated by organising a special virtual assembly. The assembly commenced with the chanting of “Ek Onkar”. A shabad was presented by the students. They enriched the audience with the preaching of Guru Nanak Dev. A special speech on Gurpurb was also delivered. Chairman Prof. Avtar Singh and Director Kanwaljit Kaur conveyed their wishes on the occasion. Principal Poonam Sharma appreciated the efforts put in by the students and teachers.

National Constitution Day was celebrated in coordination with sub divisional legal services committee, Dharamsala, by organising a webinar on the topic ‘Fundamentals of the Constitution’. The resource persons were Advocates Rahul Sharma and Gaurav Sharma. They explained the significance of the day as well as the importance of the Constitution. It was a fruitful session and students had enjoyed attending it. Principal Jaidev Sharma thanked the organisers for giving students the opportunity for being a part of the session.


Jitenderveer Sarvhitkari Model Senior Secondary School, Mohali

Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary was celebrated with fervour. On the occasion, ‘japuji sahib’ path was recited by the Principal and the staff. The pupils were enlightened about Guru’s teachings through live telecast on the school’s channel. Parents and students also participated in this virtually.


AKSIPS-45 Smart School, Chandigarh

The students of nursery performed an activity on physical fitness. They were shown videos and pictures and were explained the importance of the physical activities. Tiny tots were seen doing different physical activities like jumping, hopping, running, kicking and throwing. The motive of the activity was to encourage students to make physical activity a part of their routine. All kids enjoyed the activities and shared their videos and pictures. Meanwhile, students of pre-nursery and play way enjoyed learning the names and facts about animals from A-Z through ‘stick animals’. They were explained about wild, pet and domestic animals and also how humans and animals are interconnected in deep and complex ways.


AKSIPS-41 Smart School, Chandigarh

Constitution Day was celebrated by the students and teachers with zeal. Various activities were conducted for different classes. Class VI students read the Preamble along with their respective class teachers in an online assembly. The students of Class VII prepared their own ‘classroom fundamental rights’. Pupils of Class VIII participated in a quiz on the making of the Constitution. Class IX students formed different groups and made a video showing the journey of the making of the Constitution and Class X students made e-posters. A webinar on the same was organised for the students of Class XI.


KB DAV Sr Sec School, Chandigarh

The school, under the aegis of CBSE, celebrated the 71st anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution. School’s legal literacy club organised a plethora of activities for the students of classes V -X. To instill the spirit of patriotism, a poster-making competition for the students of Class VIII was held on the theme ‘life and contribution of Dr B R Ambedkar’ and ‘fundamental duties as enshrined in the Constitution of India’. Students spoke on the framework of the Constitution and focused on its role to bring the citizens of the country together. To create social awareness regarding the importance of protecting the Constitution, a mass reading of the Preamble was organised. The motive was to promote a better understanding among the younger generation about the Constitution.
