Herbal Garden of the school was inaugurated by TC Nautiyal, Chief Conservator of Forests, Chief Wildlife Warden, Secretary of Science and Technology & Head of the Department of Forest and Wildlife. GNPS celebrated the launch of its meticulously curated Herbal Garden, a haven of natural beauty and knowledge and the induction ceremony of the Eco Club. The thematic garden showcases over 600 varieties of medicinal, ornamental, and herbal plants. The Eco Club organised many competitions related to the environment. This initiative aims to enrich students’ understanding of herbal plants and their significance. Moreover, the students have wholeheartedly embraced their creative talents by showcasing their innovative projects, such as “best out of waste” creations, bookmark designing, T-shirt painting, thematic miniature garden, creativity with jute, poster on endangered species and vibrant umbrella paintings, demonstrating the school’s commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness. The creativity of the students was exhibited. The exhibition also featured a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation highlighting the Eco Club’s activities, providing a detailed insight into the school’s eco-friendly endeavours. Green Goblins, the newly appointed green warriors of the Eco Club, were entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding the environment and to create a greener and more sustainable future. Principal Gurnam Kaur Grewal expressed that GNPS is unwavering in its commitment to promoting environmental awareness. General secretary Prof GS Dhillon and president SJS Bawa felicitated Sarina Kapoor, Eco Club in charge, for her efforts and the winners of Eco Club activities.
