The school, in collaboration with the Rotary Club Chandigarh Midtown, organised the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA)-2024. The event brought together Interact Club members from schools across the Tricity to foster leadership, teamwork and community service. Principal Urvashi Kakkar warmly welcomed everyone, setting a positive tone for the day by highlighting the importance of leadership, teamwork and community service. The programme commenced with the national anthem and the lighting of the lamp ceremony, followed by a soulful ‘Ganesh Vandana’ performed by school students. A vibrant cultural performance by students of Kundan International School captivated the audience. Students from GMHS, Sector 13, Mani Majra, and GMSS, Sector 35, Chandigarh, gave a series of energetic and engaging performances, adding excitement and enthusiasm to the event. Motivational talks included a session by Rotarian Salil Chopra on moral values and ethics, and an impactful lecture on goal setting by Mridul Jhingan. Dr Nitya Prakash delivered an inspiring talk on leadership and innovation. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, memento presentations, and a celebration of the participants’ efforts by Event Chair RAnne Nandita Sisodia marking the day as a significant milestone in empowering young leaders.
