The school celebrated Makar Sankranti with a special assembly that radiated cultural vibrance and joy. The assembly began with a heartfelt prayer, followed by the sharing of current news, thought-provoking quotes, and fascinating facts about the festival’s significance. The event’s highlight was a lively gidda performance, traditional folk dance of Punjab, performed with energy and elegance by students. Enhancing the celebratory spirit, Jasleen Kaur Dhiman from Class IX delivered a mesmerising solo performance, captivating the audience with exceptional talent and grace. These performances beautifully reflected the cultural essence of the festival and left a lasting impression. Principal Urvashi Kakkar praised the students for their outstanding efforts and eloquently highlighted the importance of Makar Sankranti.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
