The school culminated the Joy of Giving Week with a ‘havan’ ceremony, commemorating the 98th martyrdom day of Swami Shraddhanand. The event aimed to promote environmental protection and reinforce the values of selfless service and sacrifice. The ‘havan’, held at a park in Sector 4, was presided over by Dr Krishna Singh Arya, former Principal of DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, and attended by esteemed guests and eminent personalities of the DAV fraternity. The event featured Vedic chants, bhajans, and speeches, emphasising the significance of environmental protection and the importance of following the principles of Swami Shraddhanand, who made the supreme sacrifice for the cause of righteous living. Key speaker Dr Ramesh Chandra Bava emphasised the need for goal setting and channelling the efforts with utmost integrity and determination. He urged all those present at the ‘havan’ to imbibe sustainable living as part of life. “It is the responsibility of all the citizens to conserve and protect the planet and promote peace among all,” he said. As part of the community outreach programme, the student alumni body EHSAAS collaborated with students of classes XI and XII to distribute handmade products, such as candles, cards, and gift boxes, to the inmates of Bal Sadan, Sector 2, Panchkula. The initiative instilled a sense of empathy and social responsibility among the students.
