On Doctors’ Day, a comprehensive health check-up was conducted for all students at the school. The check-up, held under the leadership of Principal Rupali Saha, included assessments of the students’ weight, eyesight, dental health, and nutritional status. A team of doctors from a local hospital, including Dr PS Nanda and Dentist Dr Gurpreet, carried out the medical examinations. Principal Rupali Saha shared that July 1 is celebrated as National Doctors’ Day in India to honour the invaluable contributions of doctors to the field of medicine. The day commemorates both the birth and death anniversary of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, a renowned physician and former Chief Minister of West Bengal. Dr PS Nanda advised children to stay away from the growing trend of substance abuse. He expressed concern over the increasing addiction to mobile phones among children and society at large, noting that constant use of phones and digital media is leading to various health issues. He urged students to minimise screen time. Dr Gurpreet provided important guidance on adopting a healthy lifestyle and maintaining good oral hygiene. Staff nurse Santosh also participated as part of the medical team. School management committee Chairman DR Gupta, and committee members Pramod Kumar and Mukesh Rana encouraged all students to be more conscious and proactive about their health.
