To boost students’ confidence, improve public speaking skills and foster an appreciation for poetry, an inter-house Hindi poem recitation competition was organised at the school. All students of the four houses, ie Amrita Pritam, Helen Keller, Kalpana Chawla and Mother Teresa, recited poems on the theme ‘Mother’ with great zeal. They displayed their creativity, confidence and strong memorisation skills. It was a great opportunity for them to gain confidence through stage exposure. Everyone was delighted after seeing their pleasing performances. Students were judged on the parameters of content, gestures, voice modulation and confidence. In the first group (Class III-V), Sana of Mother Teresa House got the first position. The second position was bagged by Samreet Kaur of Kalpana Chawla House. Avneet Kaur of Amrita Pritam House and Sahil Gupta of Kalpana Chawla House shared the third position. In the second group (Class VI-VIII), Kanishka of Kalpana Chawla House stood first.
