Inter-house athletic meet organised

To instil the feeling of sportsmanship in students, State Public School, Shahkot, organised an inter-house athletic meet. The competition took place among the students of grades III to XII of all the four houses. Principal Dr Kanwar Neel Kamal inaugurated the event with the lamp lighting ceremony. Then the students sang the shabad ‘Deh Shiva Bar Mohe Eha’. Sahildip Singh, Head Boy of the school, took the oath along with other participants. Principal Dr Kanwar Neel Kamal declared the athletic meet open. Parents were also invited to the meet. The students participated with great enthusiasm in various track and field events like discus throw, 4X100m relay race, long jump, shot put, three-legged race, sack race and other different races. An electrifying excitement could be felt in the air on that day. After this, the students of the school mesmerised everyone with an energetic bhangra performance. In this fierce competition, Amrita Pritam House won the overall trophy. Principal Dr Kanwar Neel Kamal felicitated the proud winners with medals. The winner house was awarded with a trophy.
