The Interact Club ‘Prayaas -Ek Koshish’ of Blue Bird High School, Sector 16, Panchkula, paid a visit to the Old Age Home, Sector 15, Panchkula. The visit combined environmental action with humanitarian care, leaving a lasting impact on both inmates and students. Students planted saplings on the premises, enhancing green cover and providing future shade for inmates. A significant contribution was a new for-burner gas stove enabling the home to prepare meals more efficiently for its inmates daily. The club also donated rusks. The elderly inmates warmly welcomed the students, sharing stories while participating in the tree-plantation. The home management expressed deep gratitude, emphasising how the stove would ease daily cooking burdens and the essentials would directly benefit inmates. The club members sang a beautiful song of gratitude for the old age home residents to give them honour and respect. Through this initiative, Interact Club members gained invaluable life lessons like empathy and respect for elders, community responsibility, practical philanthropy and intergenerational bonding. The Interact Club thanked Old Age Home for their warm hospitality.
