Janmashtami was celebrated by students in the school. Dance-drama enactments on the life of Krishna, devotional singing and breaking an earthen pot containing curd, famously known as ‘Dahi Handi’, were part of the celebrations. Junior students dressed up as Krishna, Radha, Gopikas in colourful outfits to perform ‘Rasleela’. They made and wore ‘mukuts’ (head gears) and decorated ‘matkas’ (pots) and flutes. Senior school students decorated the playpen colourfully with flowers, rangoli and even made a ‘jhoola’ for the little Krishna. A special assembly was conducted by Patel and Gandhi Houses to mark the birth of the deity where songs and ‘bhajans’ on Krishna were sung by the staff and students.
