Kargil Vijay Diwas was observed at Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School, Chandigarh, in collaboration with the school's Legal Literacy Club, Electoral Club and the Social Science Department. The purpose of this observance was to remember the bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers during the Kargil War. On this occasion, students presented patriotic songs and through an impactful presentation, the valour displayed by the Army during the Kargil War was effectively portrayed. A dance performance became the highlight of the programme and captured everyone's attention. Principal Shama Kukkal encouraged the students to honour the sacrifices made by the soldiers and urged them to respect the martyrs. She also lauded the school staff and teachers for organising the event.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
