The first day of the NSS Special Camp was filled with inspiration, learning, and a deep sense of community. The event kicked off with an introduction to the National Service Scheme (NSS) by the NSS Programme Officer (PO). The day proceeded with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony. Principal Pooja Prakash lit the lamp, marking the official commencement of the camp. The principal delivered an inspiring speech, emphasising the significance of the camp in shaping young leaders and encouraging students to actively engage in the activities ahead. The participants were then honoured with a special lecture by Dalbir Singh, Special Secretary of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. He addressed the pressing issue of substance abuse and gave a compelling lecture on the Nasha Mukt Bharat (Drug-Free India) initiative. The next session was led by Aanchal Sharma, a counselling psychologist working with Fortis Mohali. Sharma conducted an enlightening session on mental health, focusing on the importance of emotional well-being, stress management, and the role of mental health in overall health. The day concluded with an essential workshop on Basic Life Support (BLS), led by Ruchi from Fortis.
