The school hosted the state-level National Space Day (NSD) celebrations as the city coordinator at Gaiety Theatre Shimla. The state-level function was organised by ISRO/IIRS, Dehradun. The event witnessed an overwhelming response from students, teachers of 13 schools from Shimla and space enthusiasts alike. The day commenced with a warm welcome to chief guest Anupam Kashyap, Deputy Commissioner of Shimla, followed by a lamp-lighting ceremony to invoke divine blessings. Dr Praveen K Thakur and Dr Shashi Kumar, both scientists, gave an insightful presentation on the evolution and application of the Indian Space Programme, captivating the audience with the nation’s remarkable achievements and practical implications of the space programme. A quiz competition, extempore competition and painting exhibition were organised. Students showcased their knowledge, creativity and oratory skills, leaving the judges impressed. The event culminated with the distribution of prizes to the winners, followed by a vote of thanks.
