Lohri celebrated at Eklavya School, Jalandhar

Lohri was celebrated in the school. The celebration begin with a speech highlighting the importance of the festival, which ushers in the cheerful spring season. Bonfire was ignited and the song of Lohri was sung by the staff. The feeling of trance was bought by melodious vocals of ‘Sunder Munderiye’ and vivacious folk dance by staff members. Chairman JK Gupta said festivals are the binding factors that link all religions and regions of the country, redefining their unity and secularity in the modern age. The Principal and other staff members offered groundnuts, rewari and popcorn to the Fire God and enjoyed the festival by singing the songs in praise of “Dulha Bhatti”. Educator Sapna Sharma performed a wonderful dance on “Jhanjar song”. Many fun and frolic moments were cherished by all present there. Director Seema Handa said, “Such traditional ceremonies should serve as a wonderful platform to channelise society on path of re-information and self-introspection.” Educators danced around the bonfire to enjoy the festival. Educators and support staff were distributed popcorn, rewari and froundnuts on the occasion. Principal Komal Arora conveyed her best wishes to students and staff on Lohri and also motivated them to remain tied to their culture.
