Lohri celebration at Darshan Academy, Ludhiana
On the completion of the Silver Jubilee of the Academy, a heart-warming Lohri celebration took place, dedicated to the cherished daughters and their families. The festive event exuded tremendous zeal and enthusiasm, as 50 daughters aged between two months and three years, accompanied by their parents, were joyously welcomed with tokens of love. Commencing the celebration, an introduction to the significance of the Lohri festival was shared, embracing the rich Punjabi culture by distributing groundnuts and ‘revaris’ among the parents. A vibrant bonfire illuminated the festivities. Adding to the cultural vibrancy, students gave a captivating dance performances, while Baljit Kaur recited a soulful folk song dedicated to Lohri. Highlighting the accomplishments of women in the year 2023, the celebration also featured a dance presentation by teachers, showcasing the spirit of Punjabi songs. A graceful and heartening dance performance by parents and their daughters further enriched the event. Principal Rajdeep Kaur Aulakh extended congratulations to the parents of the daughters on the auspicious occasion, emphasising the significance of their presence. The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Jagjit Kaur.
