Loreto Convent School, Tara Hall, Shimla
The school organised a one-day capacity building workshop for the faculty members of the school on New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The resource persons were Reema Bathla, Principal of St Teresa Convent School, Panchkula, and Anupam, Principal of Dayanand Public School. Anila Jishtu warmly welcomed the guests. As part of the school’s cultural tradition, the programme was formally inaugurated with the ‘Panchdeep’ lighting ceremony by Sister Apolina Lakra, secretary of the managing committee and community leader, Principal Reetu Khanna Sharma, guests and two staff members, signifying the illumination of knowledge and wisdom. Thereafter, Reema Bathla and Anupam were felicitated by Sister Apolina Lakra and Principal Reetu Khanna Sharma, respectively. The sessions were attended by the faculty members of Loreto Convent School, Tara Hall, Shimla, and five faculty members of Chapslee School, Shimla. The main objective of the workshop was to create awareness about the National Education Policy 2020 among teachers and to familiarise them with the skills to help them understand its nuances, curriculum changes, shift in pedagogical skills and its implementation for the holistic development of its stakeholders, the students. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Anupama Sankhyan.
