In an effort to enhance disaster preparedness and response, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) conducted a mock drill at the school. The exercise, which was attended by students, teachers, and staff members, aimed to simulate emergency situations and promote disaster awareness among the school community. The NDRF team, comprising experienced personnel, demonstrated various life-saving techniques and emergency procedures, including the use of medical kits, CPR processes, and evacuation procedures. They also showcased the use of life-saving equipment, such as lifeboats and lifejackets, during flood-like situations. Additionally, the team explained the importance of preparing stretchers and using fire extinguishers during emergency situations. The mock drill was designed to test the school’s emergency response plan and to identify areas for improvement. The exercise also aimed to familiarise participants with emergency procedures, reducing confusion and panic during actual emergencies. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Parvesh Chandel expressed gratitude to the NDRF team for conducting the mock drill. “This exercise has been extremely beneficial for our students and staff members. We appreciate the efforts of the NDRF team in enhancing our disaster preparedness and response capabilities,” he said. The NDRF team also distributed informational materials and provided guidance on disaster preparedness and response to the school community.
