Modern Senior Secondary School, Patiala, hosts Inter-School Basketball Tournament

The school hosted a thrilling two-day Inter-School Basketball Tournament. The event saw participation from the top 10 schools of Patiala, with matches held in two categories — Boys Under-17 and Girls Under-14. The semi-final match of Boys U-17 between Modern School and Our Lady of Fatima, Assarpur, was a roller coaster — Modern led early, Fatima dominated the middle quarters, but a stunning comeback in the fourth saw Modern erase a 10-point deficit to win by 6 and enter the finals versus Gabriels’ Internationals School, Nabha. Gabriels’ International School, Nabha, won and Modern School came second, whereas, Old lady Fatima School, Assarpur came in third. In the Girls U-14 category, Gabriels’ International School, Nabha claimed the top spot, while the hosts, Modern School secured second position and The Millennium School, Patiala finished third. Most Valuable Player (MVP) Cups were won by Mohit Singh Rawat from Modern School in the Boys U-17 category and Harseerat Kaur from Gabriels’ International School in the Girls U-14 category for their outstanding performance throughout the tournament. International basketball player Talwinderjit Singh Sahi, widely known as TJ Sahi, was the chief guest.
