Montfort School, Roorkee, organises English reading activity

The school organised an engaging English reading activity for students of class I to V. The primary objective of the activity was to encourage students to develop reading habits, enhance their vocabulary, and improve their comprehension skills. The text to be read was chosen to cater to different reading levels, ensuring inclusivity and engagement for all students. Teachers assisted the students in reading aloud, helping with pronunciation, and understanding difficult words. The school believes that fostering a culture of reading will have a lasting positive impact on the students’ academic performance and personal growth. The school looks forward to making this an annual tradition and exploring new ways to inspire young readers.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
