The DAV MUN 2023 started with great enthusiasm on the school premises. The mega two-day event witnessed 303 delegates from different schools of Patiala, Nabha, Samana, Rajpura and Chandigarh. Principal Vivek Tiwari along with the social science department staff welcomed chief guest Ambassador Dr Deepak Vohra (Special Adviser to South Sudan, Guinea- Bissau and Lesotho and to the Ladakh Autonomous Councils in Kargil & Leh). The programme started with ceremonial lightning of lamp of knowledge followed by DAV Anthem. The programme was embellished with impeccable dance and singing performance. Later, executive members of committees — UNGA, AIPPM, UNCSW, UNHCR and UNSC — put emphasis on various global issues.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
