Sometimes you need to press pause to let everything sink in — Sebastian Vettel.
We humans strive to sustain in this competitive dog- eat-dog world. Erratic schedules, monotonous routines and juggling between numerous things makes us robotic. We move in a mechanical world that is based on deadlines, agendas, emails and everything stipulated. The zest and zing of life is lost. The unceasing pressure tarnishes our skills and minimises our genius and capabilities. The waging war between mind and productivity puts us in a deep state of doldrums.
Countries like France and Netherlands have reduced the working hours to four days per week. Both the countries realise that the algorithm of life works on the famous 3 Ps — pause, ponder and proceed. The derailed train of life comes back on track with the proper incorporation of these 3Ps. The nationals of both the nations are in perfect harmony with their professional and personal life.
Life as a student too, is no exception. All through high school, scores, grades, exams and cut-offs are the buzz words. The seething pressure of in-house exams and entrances builds a lot of apprehension and fear. Endless hard work to get into the top schools puts us in a bottomless pit. Taking a pause is the only remedy to break this vicious cycle. Even a small sabbatical refreshes, replenishes and rejuvenates us.
Often, the significance of taking a break is undermined. Taking breaks not only provides a clearer vision for our goals but also helps in eliminating unnecessary load. Stealing few days off of your loaded schedule can work wonders. Getting off of work and connecting with friends and family will certainly act as a boost to tackle everything with gusto and zeal.
In a nutshell, mindless and endless work should be replaced with smart working. Taking a pause is a mantra for success.
