Sahnewal: Sacred Heart Convent Senior Secondary School, Sahnewal, welcomed its new Director Father Roby Kolenchery and Principal Sister Sherin Thomas DM. They took charge for session 2021-22 as mentors of the institution, with an aim to make teaching and learning a joyful, trustful and competitive endeavour for every student. The welcome ceremony commenced with lighting of the lamp and reading of the Bible. Teachers delivered felicitation speeches to express their gratitude towards the dignitaries. The director and the principal exhorted the faculty to work hand in hand with parents and other stakeholders to provide an environment that facilitates overall development of the students. OC

Global Paper Bag Day observed

To boost creative and inventive skills, students of BVM Sector 39, Ludhiana observed Global Paper Bag Day with a view of bringing awareness and instilling the thought of restoring the environment. Students of classes Vl to Vlll exhibited their creativity and artistic skills by making alluring paper bags and decorating them artistically. They used old newspapers, coloured magazine pages etc. to make attractive bags of different shapes and sizes. Principal, Upasna Modgil, encouraged the students to preserve the environment by saying no to plastic bags and switching to paper bags. As paper bags not only eliminate the problem of plastic waste but can also actively help in combating climate change. TNS
