The New Public School, Chandigarh, hosted its annual Turban Tying Competition, a key event in the “Eternal Echoes” series. The competition was a celebration of cultural heritage, held in the presence of distinguished guests, esteemed judges, and enthusiastic participants. The event was an opportunity to honour the rich tradition of turban tying, a practice that signifies pride, honour, and identity. The event commenced with a heartfelt welcome from Principal Manish Hablani. The judges for the competition included Sukhwinder Singh, a seasoned turban educator, and Kulwinder Singh, an expert at turban tying. The event was enriched by performances, including an introductory speech by Mehraj Singh of Class XI (Science), followed by heartfelt a Kavishri performance by Karan Singh and Mehraj Singh, a global Punjabi geet performance and one bhangra performance by the host school. Over hundred participants, including girl participants, from both the junior and senior categories showcased their skills with precision and creativity, reflecting the deep connection to their heritage. The ceremony concluded with prize distribution, recognising the top performers in both junior and senior batches.
