To provide students with a platform for engaging in informed discussions on relevant issues and to help them learn about parliamentary procedures, the school hosted a two-day Parliamentary Debate Championship. The event aimed to enhance critical thinking, public speaking and understanding of democratic processes, with participation from 16 schools across the Tricity. The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a classical dance performance. The chief guest, Geetika Singh, ADC General of Mohali, was welcomed, along with the Principal, Ira Bogra; Dean of Academics, Jaswinder Kaur; school activity coordinator, Amardeep Kaur; in-charge of the Parliamentary Debate Club, Dr Alka Dubey; distinguished adjudicators and the enthusiastic debaters. The debate unfolded in an engaging parliamentary style, with teams skilfully representing both the Government and the Opposition, delivering compelling arguments on a range of motions. At the end of the day, anticipation built up as the quarter-final results were announced, showcasing the talent and intellect of the participants. The next day began with greetings and the announcement of the final debate teams. A PowerPoint presentation recapped the event, followed by the prize distribution ceremony and a vote of thanks by the principal. Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh, emerged as the PDC Champions 2025–26, receiving a cash prize of Rs 30,000. Gurukul Global School, Chandigarh, secured the Runners-Up award along with a cash prize of Rs 21,000. Veer Kashyap of Gurukul Global School, Chandigarh, was honoured as the Best Speaker, receiving a cash prize of Rs 7,000.
