Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched an Olympics Quiz to create awareness about Indian participation at the games.
The launch coincides with the International Olympic Day, which is observed to mark the foundation day of the International Olympic Committee.
“In a few weeks, @Tokyo2020 begins. Wishing the very best to our contingent, which consists of our finest athletes. In the run up to the games, here is an interesting quiz on MyGov. I urge you all, specially my young friends to take part,” PM said in his tweet.
Winners of the quiz, which is to run until July 23 will win Indian Team fan jerseys besides few of the lucky winners will also get a chance to meet their favourite Olympian.

Sports minister Kiren Rijiju too encouraged the fans to join the quiz. “Thank you PM @narendramodi ji for your wishes for our athletes on #OlympicDay. With just 30 days to go for @Tokyo2020, it’s time to start cheering – India, India! In the run up to the games, here is an interesting quiz on MyGov. Do participate!,” Rijiju wrote on his twitter page.
Participants will have to register on the MyGov platform after which they will be given multiple options and on successful completion of each activity, they will be awarded with an e-certificate marking their participation. Besides, the quiz enthusiasts will have to answer 10 questions within 120 seconds.
The quiz is being organised by the Sports Authority of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYAS) and Indian Olympic Association (IOA).
Later in the day, the Sports Minister will launch the Official Theme Song of the Indian Olympic Team of Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in presence of IOA president Narinder Batra and secretary-general Rajeev Mehta. The song has been composed and sung by popular playback singer Mohit Chauhan.
