PM Shri KV No 2, Jalandhar Cantonment

The 53rd Regional Sports Meet of the Chandigarh region for U-14 and U-17 boys and girls’ hockey concluded with a grand closing ceremony at the Hockey Astro Turf ground, BSF Campus, Jalandhar. Hosted by the school, the event was graced by chief guest Birender Guria, Assistant Commandant, BSF, and Dr Bihari Jha, a renowned Hindi writer and Rajbhasha official in the BSF. Host school Principal Ravinder Kumar welcomed the guests. While declaring the sports meet closed, the chief guest emphasised the importance of participation over victory. KV No 4, Jalandhar Cantt, won in the U-17 category, defeating PM Shri KV No 1, RCF, Hussainpur, while PM Shri KV No 2, Jalandhar Cantt, secured the second runner-up spot. PM Shri KV No 1, Hussainpur, was selected for the national level in the U-14 category, and a mix team was selected from different schools in the U-17 girls’ category after trials. The event was anchored by Dr Sushil Kumar and Lakshita. Aman Handa, an official from KVS, RO, Chandigarh, and Neelam Sehgal, sports teacher, ensured the seamless execution of the event.
