On Janmashtami, the school organised a story-writing competition for classes VI-VIII and collage-making competition for classes I-IV. Little hands of kindergarten section indulged in making flutes, matki, etc, to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna. Fruits were distributed among the students by the management of the school. The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
