The opening ceremony of 23rd Pandit Mohan Lal Memorial Basketball Tournament (Under-19 Boys & Girls) and 14th Pandit Mohan Lal Memorial Boxing Championship Boys and 4th Pandit Mohan Lal Memorial Boxing Championship Girls 2023-2024 was held at the school. The event was inaugurated by Principal Monica Sharma. More than 500 students from Chandigarh are participating in this mega event. In basketball, the first match was played between Vivek High School Sector 38, Chandigarh, and St Joseph School, Sector 44, Chandigarh. Vivek High School won the match. The second match was played between St Joseph School, Sector 44, Chandigarh, and Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, Chandigarh. Guru Nanak Public School won the match. The third match was played between St Anee’s School, Sector 32-C, Chandigarh, and Vivek High School Sector 38, Chandigarh. Vivek High School won the match.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
