Education involves a right balance of academic and co-curricular activities. How is your institution providing this balance to students?
It is essential for students to maintain equilibrium between academics and co-curricular activities. Co-curricular activities enhance the process of learning and build a strong character and personality. Both are balanced by adopting a healthy lifestyle, managing time, planning the work and embracing optimistic approach.
What are the assessment practices used in your school?
The assessment practices used in our school are formative, oral, interactive assessments, projects and portfolios. These are the resolving processes where we lay out ways to improve the recognised weaknesses, gaps or deficiencies.
Sports and co-curricular activities for students.
Sports and co-curricular activities boost self-esteem, social skills and confidence. Our school encourages in sports and games, which include volleyball, basketball, kho-kho, kabaddi, etc. Students have outshined in state-level sports competitions. Co-curricular activities include student council, eco, science and maths clubs, student newspaper, spell bee, Olympiads, etc, which develop students’ interest, personality and fun.
NEP-2020 has laid special emphasis on vocational skills and entrepreneurships. How is your school providing these two through curriculum?
Vocational education requires an individual to become gainfully employed or self-employed with requisite skill. Our school provides information technology as vocational course through curriculum.
What measures has the school taken to help students cope with stress and to develop their EQ?
School boosts self-care practices, yoga, fun activities, music, art and craft, etc, among students to overcome stress. To develop EQ, students are encouraged in self-management, self-awareness and social awareness.
As head of the institution what is your vision and how you are making it a reality?
I try to be an encouraging and empowering person to my teachers and students by providing a rigorous academic and caring environment. I strive to help students realise their full academic potential, develop positive self-concepts and gain enthusiasm for learning.
Motto of your school and how are students being trained to follow it?
Our school motto is “Thamasoma Jyothirgamaya” meaning “Lead me from darkness to light”. Students are trained to move from ignorance towards knowledge, enlightenment and truth.
