In today’s highly competitive world, we understand that academic excellence alone is insufficient. By actively participating in co-curricular activities such as student councils and events, we cultivate crucial personal skills like leadership, teamwork, and social acumen. Recognising student accomplishments through awards and showcases not only motivates them but also prepares them to confidently confront future challenges.

What are the assessment practices used in your school?

We employ both formative and summative assessment methods to monitor students’ progress. Formative assessments include ongoing tasks like class assignments, tests, and projects, along with enrichment activities and portfolios to showcase talents. These provide continuous feedback for teachers and students to enhance learning. Summative assessments, conducted at term ends, assess learning outcomes through written exams. Together, these methods foster comprehensive student development and readiness for future challenges.

Sports and co-curricular activities for students.

Our institution values sports and co-curricular activities for fostering holistic development. Sports promote fitness, discipline, teamwork, and perseverance, with offerings like kho-kho, basketball, cricket, chess, etc. Co-curricular activities nurture talents, leadership, and critical thinking through competitions, workshops, and exhibitions. Our students excel at district, state, and national levels, winning accolades such as three consecutive years in Rajpura Sahodaya Kho-Kho Competition and various other CBSE sports championships.

NEP-2020 has laid special emphasis on vocational skills and entrepreneurships. How is your school providing these two through curriculum?

Our school embraces NEP-2020’s vision by integrating vocational skills and entrepreneurship into our curriculum. Students engage in courses like arts and crafts, typing, dive into information technology and artificial intelligence and culinary arts to gain practical skills. This integration ensures a well-rounded educational experience that prepares students for diverse career paths and equips them for the challenges of today’s workforce, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

What measures has the school taken to help students cope with stress and to develop their EQ?

To help students manage stress and develop emotional intelligence, our school offers counselling services, mindfulness and relaxation techniques, and constant guidance programmes. We also create peer support networks, engage parents through workshops, and integrate emotional intelligence education into the curriculum. These measures equip students with skills for stress management, emotional awareness, and resilience.

Motto of your school and how are students being trained to follow it?

Our school motto, “Come to Learn, Go to Serve”, reflects our dedication to nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel academically and contribute positively to society. We achieve this through instilling core values like truth, justice, and brotherhood, promoting teamwork and healthy competition, and emphasising physical fitness through a variety of sports and fitness activities.

As head of the institution what is your vision and how you are making it a reality?

As the institution’s leader, I envision a culture of excellence, innovation, and inclusivity. This involves prioritising rigorous academics with practical applications, supporting holistic student development, fostering diversity, and integrating technology. We emphasise community engagement, encouraging students to contribute positively through cultural initiatives, policy advocacy, volunteerism, and partnerships that drive social impact and societal benefit.
