The Punjab School Education Department has released a grant of Rs 5 lakh for training of 200 class XII students.

A spokesperson for the department today said the students appearing for the Class XII examinations would be imparted apprenticeship in various companies as per their interest. The training would be for two months.

During the training, the department would provide a stipend of Rs 1,250 per student per month. Meanwhile, the company would also provide Rs 1,250 per student. Thus, each student would get Rs 2,500 per month.

The training would be imparted after completion of their annual examination and school heads had been asked to fill consent proforma of students.
