Legal Studies educator Akanksha Soni organised a Moot Court event for the senior secondary wing of the school. The event aimed to sharpen the skills of budding legal minds in a simulated courtroom setting. Class XII students Prabir and Mannat took on the roles of defendant and prosecutor, respectively, in a case concerning online abuse. The courtroom buzzed with intensity as they presented evidence, cross-examined witnesses, and made their final arguments. In another riveting case, Anshika, Shreya, Manpreet and Deepansh debated a privacy violation and data breach incident between a private company and a customer. The students demonstrated their understanding of legal procedures by creating and submitting evidence and delivering persuasive arguments. Class XI student Armaan also displayed remarkable legal acumen, representing a social media company. He argued against Harshpreet and Mayank, who represented the Government of India. The debate centred on the critical issue of social media accessibility for teenagers and the necessity of stringent age verification measures. Nandni and Pari, presented a case on the complexities of corporate responsibility and consumer rights. Teachers Shreya and Kanika evaluated each case with the student jury members. The event helped the students to enhance their problem-solving abilities and communication skills while fostering a deeper understanding of the legal system.
