Gratitude for grandparents

St Joseph’s Sr Sec School, Chandigarh: The Kindergarten block celebrated “Grandparents Day” to make the children recognise their value and cherish their presence in the family. A formal invitation was sent to the grandparents of Nursery and PKG for the same and the special guests of the day joined the virtual venue wherein all the teachers and children warmly welcomed them.

Tiny tots chanted mantras and sang songs to show their love. They prepared dance performances to please their dear grandparents.They felt nostalgic and shared their sweet memories, experiences and sang melodies of their time.  They played antakshari also. The grandparents also shook a leg with grandchildren on rocking dance numbers.


World Ozone Day celebrated

MDAV School, Chandigarh: The school celebrated World Ozone Day. Online activities were held for classes III to V. Teachers informed students about the ozone layer, its benefits and causes of depletion. A drawing competition for classes VI to VIII was organised while students of Classes IX and X took part in a debate. Students participated enthusiastically.


Literacy week observed

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh: Children observed Literacy Week. Students of the pre-Primary wing took part in the activities with enthusiasm. Students of Class I spoke confidently about their favourite character. Students of Class II shared a review of a book they had read recently. The activities were planned to hone the reading, speaking and listening skills of children. The week turned out to be extremely engaging and was an enjoyable experience for the children.


Students showcase love for Hindi 

KB DAV Senior Secondary Public School, Chandigarh: The school celebrated Hindi Diwas with enthusiasm. The event was conducted with the motive of imbibing interest for Hindi amongst the students. To highlight the importance of Hindi as ‘Matra Bhasha’, students of Primary and Middle section participated in Kavita Gayan, Nibandh, and Bhashan Pratiyogita and showcased their talent and creative skills. Students of secondary classes wrote slogans, poems and designed attractive cards.


Awards for Teachers

Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula: Two teachers — Sonia Arora (Head, IT Dept) and Rachita Khurana—  won the national awards organised by IPN foundation. It was Inspire Awards 2020-Global Honour for Teachers. Over 1,200 teachers from all over India participated in the event. Both teachers were adjudged first runners-up. They were awarded an e-certificate of achievement and CredEd 12 month’s exclusive subscription. While Sonia Arora made her mark in the ‘Inspired Round the Clock Reassurer category, Rachita emerged victorious in the ‘Inspired Forerunner’ category. Principal Gulshan Kaur congratulated both teachers.
