Shemrock Senior Secondary School, Sector 69, Mohali, recently hosted a special talk session featuring decorated retired Indian Army officers, who shared their experiences and motivated students to become responsible and patriotic citizens. Major General BS Grewal presented a detailed overview of the 1965 Indo-Pak War, while Brigadier DS Grewal shared thrilling accounts of military operations in Bhuj and Jammu & Kashmir, highlighting the bravery of soldiers. Major General ADS Grewal discussed the Battle of Asal Uttar, where the Indian Army successfully halted a large Pakistani tank unit and remembered the bravery of Company Quartermaster Havildar Abdul Hamid, who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra. The officers also encouraged students to adopt values of honesty, personal responsibility, and service, emphasising that patriotism can be lived out in daily life. The session concluded with gratitude from Karan Bajwa and Principal Parineet Sohal, who thanked the officers for sharing their experiences with the students.
