World Science Day for peace and development was celebrated at various schools of the region on Wednesday .

Main function was held at Paragon International School at Dehlon near here where budding scientists imbibed fundamentals of science with special reference to development and maintenance of peace.

Teachers supervised by Surinder Pal Sofat illustrated basic concepts of applied science and performed experiments in laboratories.Similar functions and workshops were held at MGMN Senior Secondary School Ahmedgarh, Victoria Public Senior Secondary School and Green Valley Senior Secondary School Jandali road.

Elaborating on the 2021 theme ‘Building Climate-Ready Communities’, speakers including Manjit Kaur Sidhu, Gurmit Singh, Bipan Sethi and Viney Goyal said that objective of observing the occasion was to bring science closer to society by highlighting certain basis aspects of science.
