A session on “Say No to Drugs” was conducted at AKSIPS-41 Smart School, Chandigarh, in collaboration with Police Station, Sector 39, Chandigarh, Samavesh Kendra, Chandigarh, and the Society for Protection of Youth and Masses (SPYM). Sub-Inspector Harish Pandey apprised the students of the harmful impact of drug abuse on life. He emphasised that awareness, prevention, and timely guidance are essential to overcome this challenge. He shared valuable insights on the causes behind the spread of drug abuse, why it poses a danger to the younger generation, and the measures that can be taken to prevent it. Komal Kumar from the SPYM, an NGO based in Chandigarh, spoke about the danger drugs pose to the youth and society at large. Drawing from his experience of dealing with clients affected by substance abuse, he explained how even casual use can gradually lead to serious addiction. The session concluded with Pandey administering a pledge, where students promised to abstain from drugs and make positive choices in life.
