Students and teachers celebrated Teacher’s Day in the school. They paid homage to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan by garlanding his photo and offering flowers. School Director Malkiyat Singh Rana threw light on the biography of Dr Radhakrishnan and said as the first Vice-President and second President of independent India, Dr Radhakrishnan’s name is written in golden letters in the Indian history. Radhakrishnan was also a famous teacher, that is why, Teacher’s Day is celebrated every year on September 5 in his memory. After that, students presented a cultural programme and honoured the teachers by giving them gifts.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
