A calligraphy competition was conducted for classes I to XII at the school. The purpose of the competition was to improve presentation skills and to inculcate the habit of good handwriting in all three languages (English, Punjabi and Hindi). All students participated. The competition was conducted in their respective classes. The teacher gave a paragraph to be written. The assessment was done by teachers on the basis of writing style, curves and patterns, legibility and beautification.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
