A special morning assembly was conducted at Bhavan Vidyalaya, New Chandigarh, to observe the martyrdom day of Shaheed Udham Singh, a brave freedom fighter who sacrificed his life for the nation. The assembly served as a heartfelt tribute to his courage and commitment to justice. The programme began with a soulful ‘shabad gayan’ by the school choir, which set a reverent and reflective tone. A thought for the day was shared to inspire deeper reflection, followed by a student’s speech that shed light on the life, sacrifice and fearless mission of Shaheed Udham Singh. In a meaningful segment, a poem recitation was combined with a teacher’s reflection, offering historical context and encouraging students to draw inspiration from the martyr’s courage and deep sense of duty. The assembly also featured an impactful address by Principal Inderpreet Kaur who spoke about the determination and clarity of purpose that defined Udham Singh’s life. She urged students to uphold the values of bravery, justice and selfless service in their own lives.
