The school observed National Girl Child Day on January 24 on the school campus. To commemorate the event girl ambassadors wore pink turbans. Turban (pagri) is a symbol of honour and respect, especially in North India, and colur pink represents compassion, nurturing and love. In colour psychology, pink is a sign of hope. An oath was administered to the students on ‘Beti bachao, beti padhao’. The staff and the students took a pledge to eliminate gender-based discrimination that threatens the birth and survival of girls. They committed themselves to ensure that girls are born, loved and nurtured to become equal and empowered citizens of India. To give a clear and strong message of empowered girls a candle march was also organised. Principal Sr. Siji led this march and advised the girls to be more vigilant about their rights. Sr. Siji urged the girls to be dreamers, achievers and winners for a bright future.
